Stand Up or Leave

A memo from Victoria Thornton (HR Lead for the Operational Transformation Project) states that all bedside staff will have to stand up the whole time they are in the pod or they will be referred to the occupational health department.

This is clearly illegal under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 which state in section 11, paragraph 3: A suitable seat shall be provided for each person at work in the workplace whose work includes operations of a kind that the work (or a substantial part of it) can or must be done sitting.
