HSE Report on Seating at Donor Sessions

The Health and Safety Executive has released the written report about the removal of chairs from donor sessions and especially from the pods. The report fully vindicates the union position and we would especially like to thank Phil Bishop for all of the work he did on this.

Local Government Association Calls for Jargon Ban

The Local Government Association has published a list of 200 jargon terms they think should be banned from government communications and meetings. This includes some NHSBT favourites such as 'cascade' and 'going forward'. If this were implemented in the NHSBT, our meetings would be an hour or so shorter. The complete list is published here.

OTP Review

The unions are taking part in a review of the Operational Transformation Programme (OTP). If you have any comments of any sort, please send them to Paul Selby at paulselby01 at btinternet dot com. Replace 'at' with '@' and 'dot' with '.' and remove the spaces. This is to prevent spamming.

The vast majority of comments received so far have been negative, including back problems, lack of donor care and over-running sessions. The change agents are telling every team with complaints that all of the other teams are happy with the process. This does not sound like the teams are being treated with respect, which is a clear code of conduct violation.
